October 6th 2018, 5 – 9pm
The ACE HOTEL New Orleans.
600 Carondelet Street; our event will be held in the Barnett Courtyard and Barnett Private Dining Room (adjoining) on the first floor.
What to expect: a short ceremony followed by second-line parade, then cocktails/hors d'oeuvres and dinner, all held within the brick courtyard and adjoining dining room.
There are still a couple of discounted rooms left in our hotel block for Friday and Saturday nights. These can be booked either by calling the hotel directly at 504.941.9191 and providing our booking code: 106018SMIPEE, or online through our private booking link here. If you'd like to adjust the check-in/check-out dates, they recommend calling (the rates for Thurs, Sun, or Mon will be considerably lower than for Fri/Sat). The deadline for the room block is September 5th.
Cocktail attire. We also suggest nice but comfortable shoes that you'll be able to second-line in (and we'll likely end up walking around town later that night, too!).
Note: the average High/Low in New Orleans in October is 81° / 63°. Hopefully the temperature in the evening will be comfortably in-between.
All are invited to join us the night before (Friday October 5th),
from 6–9pm at the Napoleon House in the French Quarter for delicious food (station-style), open bar and a casual vibe.
Please RSVP for the Welcome Reception as well as for the wedding (same method; just mention you're also attending the Welcome Reception—we hope everyone can).
THE NAPOLEON HOUSEThe ACE Hotel is located in the Warehouse District/Central Business District, or "Downtown". There are plenty of things in this part of town, and it's also very easy to get to the French Quarter in one direction and the Garden District in the other!
The CBD/Warehouse District/French Quarter are all quite walkable. You can just hop on a Streetcar to get over to the Garden District, and there's Uber for wherever you'd like to go quickly!
In the section below, you'll find a download-able PDF we compiled, containing detailed info on getting around as well as personal recommendations of places to see and things to do.
We've compiled a list of more detailed information, including specifics on how to get around, a bunch of personal recommendations for things to see and do, and some useful websites. It's not everything, but it's a lot—and we think it'll help! (There are other things you can look into, such as organized cemetery, swamp, plantation, or bus tours, which we haven't included).
Download PDFAfter much delay, we decided to have a small, intimate celebration with the closest of friends and family. We really want you all to have a great time. There's no registry because we consider your presence to be gift enough!
Cheers, and we hope to see you there!
Love,
Jill and Matt
